How the Skin Lightening System Works

The skin produces its dark pigment melanin in varying concentrations depending on genetic factors and exposure to UV radiation. Pregnancy and the use of oral contraceptives can further increase melanin production, usually unevenly. An enzyme in the skin called tyrosinase triggers the synthesis of melanin in the skin. The BIOTICA ® whitening system uses ingredients that both reduce the activity of this skin-darkening enzyme and have a bleaching effect on already dark pigments.

The Biotica® Spot Whitening Serum is a fast-absorbing product with up to 30% higher concentrations of the active skin-lightening ingredients. In addition, the serum has been formulated to be highly alkaline (pH 12), which makes it particularly effective for dissolving melanin age spots.

Easy to use:

Gently massage the Whitening Serum onto dark spots until absorbed. Wait half an hour and then apply the Lightening Cream over skin as desired. Make two applications of each product per day for best effect. Results begin to appear within a week and increase thereafter.

Activity of Ingredients:

• Golden Dock (Rumex martinus) extract: The root extract from the Rumex tree directly Inhibits the formation of melanin by recuding the activity of the tyrosinase enzyme.
  
• Kojic acid: A water-soluble skin anti-oxidant developed in Japan that inhibits formation of skin-darkening melanin.
  
• Miik cytokines: A German product that counteracts hyperpigmentation caused by skin damage such as from UV radiation.
  
• Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) extract: Contains glucosides that have skin lightening effects.
  
• Asafetida (Ferula assa foetidas) extract: Sulfur-containing essential oils in this plant extract reduces the activity of the skin-darkening tyrosinase enzyme. Frequently used in Oriental medicine.
  
• Papaya oil: Natural bleaching effects.
  
• Ascorbic and citric acids: Natural bleaching effects.
