Dr. Harris' Original Diabetic Foot Care:
Your skin is the largest organ in the body. It is vulnerable to many conditions including aging, moles, warts, diabetic and vascular ulcers, age or liver spots and much more. Many of these conditions are made worse by infection, excess dry skin and lack of circulation. Environmental conditions can lead to dry, cracked skin in the hands and feet.
In The News: According to the American Diabetes Association, more than 14 million diabetics in the U.S. have Peripheral Neuropathy and are at risk for development of diabetic foot ulcers. Over two million diabetics will develop diabetic foot ulcers, and up to 500,000 of these patients will eventually undergo amputation of one or both lower extremities. Diabetes is the most common cause of non-traumatic amputations of the lower extremities throughout the entire world.
